ENCOURAGEMENT FROM ABOVE
TEXT: I KINGS 19: 1-8
WHEN YOU NEED ENCOURAGEMENT?
1 Kings 19:1 Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
The new job, the new baby, the new promotion is not an end in itself. If it is of God – the devil will attempt to attack it by discouraging you.
1Ki 19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.”
1Ki 19:3 Then he was afraid
2Ti 1:7 God’s Spirit doesn’t make cowards out of us. The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-control.
1Ki 19:3 Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
Pro 28:1 The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Jos 7:11 Israel has sinned! They have broken the agreement with me that I ordered them to keep. They have taken some of the things condemned to destruction. They stole them, lied about it, and put them with their own things.
Jos 7:12 This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They retreat from them because they themselves have now been condemned to destruction! I will not stay with you any longer unless you destroy the things you were ordered not to take!
1Ki 19:4 then walked another whole day into the desert. Finally, he came to a large bush and sat down in its shade. He begged the LORD, “I’ve had enough. Just let me die! I’m no better off than my ancestors.”
Job 22:29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

1Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, TAKE AWAY MY LIFE; FOR I AM NOT BETTER THAN MY FATHERS.
1Ki 19:5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him,
29.Every stranger around me that is increasing my loneliness, deliver me!
30. Father, I am grateful for people around me that has stayed with me. Please encourage and reward them.
31. Deliver me permanently from the bondage of loneliness.
32. As the Lord lives, from today, I will never walk alone!
